Just Thinking

Something new occurred for me.  For the first time since I started to pastor, I have not been able to preach for three weeks.  God provided able substitutes for me and everyone understood why I was unable to preach.  May 7 in my battle with cancer, my surgeon removed just over half of my liver.  The first two weeks, I was either in the hospital or housebound, but the third week I was able to attend the service.  This was a treat for me because my older brother was filling in for me and I was privileged to hear him preach.

As you might guess, I am not very good at sitting through a sermon, especially in my church.  This was a treat for me as he reinforced the teachings that I have been stressing for the past three months.  God often chooses to align the lessons to open the eyes and ears of His people to His priorities.

Everyone sets priorities.  Are you listening to God to make His priorities yours?  Are you intentional about your priorities?  What do your priorities say about your values?

YAY! a new post! I have been checking for new posts from you! I look forward to your writings. I miss you and mom, I hope you are doing well. You are totally write, God speaks to us through others when we need it most. Actually you wrote just what I needed to hear today, God moves in mysterious ways doesn't he??
My priorities are very important to me. Family is a huge priority of mine which lines up with the values you have instilled in me since I was a child. I have a lot of worries right now, and life is really stressful, but the one constant in my life is God and His never ending love for me.
Thank you so much for being an awesome father. I hope someday to be able to be a wife and mother, and to instill in my children all the teachings that I have learned from you.

I love you Dad.

PS- I posted some new pics in my last two posts. Thought you might like to see them.
